A 1998 doge caravan 2.4 Lt 4 cylinder (123000 millage)?
I was driving on highway 20, I slamed on brakes and when I pressed gas, it wouldn't take it although it was still running. I cranked the car. The sound is like it almost started but when you press gas, it does not take it. I towed to nearest Auto zone and put it on machine, they said it was the spark plugs, I changed it, also the fuel filter, new battery, checked fused and spark plug power relay. Then I thought perhaps it doesn't have enough compressor or that the starter might have a problem. Three different mechanic did diognoses and came up with different finding. The head cylinder is cracked and asked $400.00. Next, the motor and asked &1500.00. Next, fuel injectors to be replaced and asked $200.00. Diagnosis machine doesn't say anything of what those mechanics found. Did oil and transmission oil change. Am not sure about fuel pump or sensors. Again the car sound that it will start when you crank it but it cant get gas when you presse gas pedal. What's realy the problem?
I had a truck go down hard on me because the alternator wasn't working. That can wreak havoc on the ECM, and is hard to track down. Take it to Auto Zone and have it bench tested. A diagnostic reader will only give you codes for the computer; it will not tell you if there is a mechanical problem with the engine. Very simply, check your fluids. If you have oil in the radiator or water in the crankcase, you have a bad head gasket or a cracked head or block. Do a compression test. All cylinders should read about the same. Since you replaced the plugs, double check your ignition wires and make sure the firing order is correct. If you can turn the key and get the starter to crank the engine, your starting circuit is OK.

japanese donut/pastry machine?
there used to be a little kiosk near times square in NYC...a deli...and it had a little japanese machine that made wonderful little cream filled pastries. I am trying to find where that little machine went, and who makes it.
The pastries were about the size of a small biscuit and were filled with either vanilla creme or chocolate creme. The machine had cast iron molds and automated injectors and it cooked the pastries as it rolled through the machine.
There are non-automated types that you can get from Japanese markets, the mold is in the shape of a fish and is used like a waffle maker and when the pastry is mostly cooked on both sides you put in your filling (like red bean paste or vanilla custard) then close the iron and finish baking.
